Kakuro — sometimes called cross-sums — is a logic puzzle in the same family as Sudoku, but built around addition. You fill the white cells of a grid with the digits 1 to 9 so that each horizontal and vertical run adds up to the small clue number printed beside it, and no digit repeats within a run. There is always exactly one solution, and you never need to guess to reach it.

• Hints that teach. Instead of filling a square for you, a hint points to the next cell that can be solved and names the technique that cracks it — so you get better, not just unstuck.
• Pencil marks and clean input. Jot candidate digits into a cell, then commit when you're sure, exactly as you would on paper.
• No ads during play. Puzzles are never interrupted by an ad mid-solve.

How it respects your phone and your data

Kakuro runs entirely offline. You can solve on a flight, on the metro, or anywhere without signal. There is no account to create and no personal data collected by Northcell — your progress and streaks live only on your device. The only data that leaves the phone is what Google's advertising library collects to show the banner ad, and you can read exactly what that involves in the Kakuro privacy policy. One small one-time purchase removes ads permanently if you prefer.
